1 Chronicles 29:11

1 Chronicles 29:11

8/9/2025
Good morning church family,
GIVING THANKS:

Savita who joins us from India  on Wednesday night bible study gives thanks that her Mother-in-Law is home from the hospital now and thanks everyone for your prayers.
Thanks to all who came to the ladies song night and devotional last Friday night.  Each lady brought a fruit and together a  delicious fruit salad was made.  God was glorified as we sang ‘I am the vine and ye are the branches’ and other hymns of praise.

Ben Baxter thanks all who donated towards his first mission trip to Honduras.  Ben and His mother Jen and several others had the opportunity to help in the building of a house for a young Mother of 4 children who was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer. She was brought to the site toward the end of the week and was visibly emotional when seeing her new home!   Their letter and pictures will be on the back table in the auditorium.

PRAYER REQUESTS:
All of our prayers continue to cover JoAnne and Bob’s grandson Leo Benevento.  Yale had been waiting for the third genetic marker to come back and it did!  Leo’s blood test revealed that his severe aplastic anemia has been ‘acquired’, not genetic!   Now they can proceed with a plan to treat him.  As of Monday, they should know which course of treatment to start. This is still going to be a tough journey for Leo.  Our prayers surround him.
Bob Discala had hernia surgery yesterday.  Prayers for healing.

Mick McReanor asked for prayers since he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Mildred Perkins  memorial service will be held here at the Trumbull church of Christ on August 15th.

1 Chronicles 29:11
“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness,
and the power, and the glory,
and the victory, and the majesty:
for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine;
thine is the kingdom,
O LORD,
and Thou art exalted as head above all.”
This verse spoken by King David in prayer, highlights several key attributes of God.

This one verse of only 45 words is a powerful affirmation of God’s sovereignty and ownership of all creation!
In this one verse, David’s words show…
GOD’s Greatness, vastness and supreme nature.
GOD’s Power and ability to do all things.

GOD’s GLORY & SPLENDOR and worthiness of PRAISE.
GOD’S VICTORY and TRIUMPH over all opposition.

GOD’s MAJESTY, HIS AWE INSPIRING AND REGAL NATURE

GOD’s KINGDOM and ABSOLUTE RULE AND AUTHORITY OVER ALL CREATION.

This one verse spoken by King David emphasizes that everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to God,

This one verse, confirms HIS ownership of all things.

David acknowledges that even the human kingdom and all earthly power ultimately derive from, and are subject to, God’s reign.

He is exalted over all, emphasizing God’s supreme and ultimate authority!

There are many natural wonders  recognized on our earth which God has created.
All are remarkable…spectacular….and breathtaking!   These natural sites (None are man-made)  are recognized for their exceptional beauty and significance.  The Aurora Borealis,  The Grand Canyon, The Great Barrier Reef, Mount Everest, Paricutin Volcano, Victoria Falls,  The Harbor of Rio de Janeiro, and there are SO much more!  People flock to these destinations, spending a lot of money to get there to soak up the beauty.  Below are photos of these destinations intertwined with scripture.
Our planet demonstrates God’s power and glory everywhere!

Psalm 104

“Praise the LORD, my soul.
Lord my God, you are very great;
    you are clothed with splendor and majesty.
  The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment;
he stretches out the heavens like a tent
    and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.

He makes the clouds his chariot
   and rides on the wings of the wind.
 He makes winds his messengers,
    flames of fire his servants.

He set the earth on its foundations;
    it can never be moved.
You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment;

the waters stood above the mountains.

But at your rebuke the waters fled,
    at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;
they flowed over the mountains,
    they went down into the valleys,
    to the place you assigned for them.
You set a boundary they cannot cross;

    never again will they cover the earth.

He makes springs pour water into the ravines;
    it flows between the mountains.
They give water to all the beasts of the field;
    the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
The birds of the sky nest by the waters;
    they sing among the branches.

He waters the mountains from his upper chambers;
the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.
He makes grass grow for the cattle,
and plants for people to cultivate—

bringing forth food from the earth:

wine that gladdens human hearts,
oil to make their faces shine,
and bread that sustains their hearts.
The trees of the Lord are well watered,

the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.

There the birds make their nests;
    the stork has its home in the junipers.
The high mountains belong to the wild goats;

    the crags are a refuge for the hyrax.

He made the moon to mark the seasons,

    and the sun knows when to go down.
You bring darkness, it becomes night,
    and all the beasts of the forest prowl.
The lions roar for their prey

    and seek their food from God.

The sun rises, and they steal away;
    they return and lie down in their dens.
Then people go out to their work,

    to their labor until evening.

How many are your works, Lord!
    In wisdom you made them all;
    the earth is full of your creatures.
There is the sea, vast and spacious,
    teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.

There the ships go to and fro,
    and Leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.
All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time.
When you give it to them, they gather it up;
when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.

When you hide your face,

      they are terrified;

when you take away their breath,

    they die and return to the dust.

When you send your Spirit,
    they are created,
    and you renew the face of the ground.

May the glory of the Lord endure forever;

    may the Lord rejoice in his works—
he who looks at the earth, and it trembles,
    who touches the mountains, and they smoke.

I will sing to the Lord all my life;

    I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
May my meditation be pleasing to him,
    as I rejoice in the Lord.
But may sinners vanish from the earth
    and the wicked be no more.

Praise the Lord, my soul.
Praise the Lord.”

Psalm 93:1
The LORD reigns;
he is robed in majesty;
the LORD is robed;
he has put on strength as his belt.
Yes the world is established;
it shall never be moved.”

Psalm 145:5

“On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.”

Hebrews 8:1
“Now the point in what we are saying is this:
we have such a high priest,
one who is seated
at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven.”

Jude 1:25
“To the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our LORD,
be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever, Amen.”

Psalm 145:12
“To make known to the children of many your mighty deeds,
and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.”
Beyond what our eyes can visually see, is the spiritual!     God has provided us the sacrificial lamb who will walk with us when we are in the valley of death, and we will fear no evil!    The Shepherd provides, protects, and we will dwell with him FOREVER!
Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
   He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
    He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
   for his name’s sake.

 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
   I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
   your rod and your staff,
   they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
   in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
   my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
   all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD  forever.”

GOD IS WORTHY!  MAY WE KEEP SINGING:

I STAND IN AWE OF YOU!
Acappella Praise Medley

Psalm 57: 10-11
For your lovingkindness is great to the heavens

And your truth to the clouds.

Be exalted above the heavens, O God;

Let your glory be above all the earth.”
How can people not believe?

Romans 1:18-20
“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness,
since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.
For since the creation of the world,  God’s invisible qualities,
his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen,
ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.  So that men are without excuse.

May we continue to share the good news with all the world!

TO GOD BE THE GLORY GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE.

In Him,

Bruce & Paula
