Good morning church family,
GIVING THANKS!
Thanks to Lisa and Mary Lou for leading the Tuesday morning bible studies over the past several months. This class will be taking a break for the summer.
Thanks to all who have been praying for my brother-in-law Kevin Early. He seems to have turned the corner with his severe depression and is doing better, Praise God!
Leah Fernandes’ sister- in- law Marilyn Pinto had her surgery on Wednesday and is home recuperating. Thanks to all for your prayers.
Leah shared this photo of a rainbow which was in her back yard! Thanks be to GOD for His majestic firmament!
PRAYER REQUESTS
Prayers for Desrine since she is still struggling with health concerns.
Prayers for Karen Stanzione’s daughter Kelly who has pneumonia, not only for her healing but that Jose doesn’t come down with it as well. Also, Karen’s Mother just started home dialysis which caused her to have a rough night. Prayers for all.
Prayers for Mary Lou’s friend Louise whose husband is in ICU. “Her husband is in serious condition, he had septic shock and now a blood clot near his heart they are worried about stroke and he really needs surgery but they have to get him stabilized first. Please pray for them both. Thank you !
Prayers for all of our seniors who are precious to this congregation. Give them a call to check in and see how they are doing.
The young adults will be doing a trip on the Bridgeport ferry to Port Jefferson NY next Saturday, June 7! Please see Zach or Tori for more details.
The Young Adults had a great hike and devotional at Sleeping Giant State Park last weekend.

TRCC is fast approaching. They are always looking for members to help out in many capacities. Please see Pat Keller if you have interest in helping out at camp this summer.
Each year local congregations support TRCC by providing food donations for the campers. Below is what they would like for our congregation to provide. Please place your donations in the bin which will be in the foyer.

TRUMBULL EVENTS:
Wednesday evening zoom studies:
Ron is leading a bible study on the Old Testament Prophets. We are studying the book of Isaiah. Please look for the link and carve out time to join in.
The next Saturday Ladies Bible study will be on June 14th from 10:00 – 12:00 noon at the church building . Michelle Wilson will lead the lesson. We will be finishing up our wonderful study on the “Fruit of the Spirit” and this lesson is on “Faithfulness” .
NEXT POT LUCK – Sunday, June 29th. We will be honoring our High School Seniors at this pot luck.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is slated for Saturday July 26th Lord willing.
There will be a meeting for VBS right after worship on Sunday June 1st.

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines “Sovereign” as:
“Superlative in quality”
“Of the most exalted kind” “Supreme”
“Having generalized curative powers”
“Of an unqualified nature”
“Having undisputed ascendancy: Paramount”
“A supreme power”
“a Supreme ruler: Royal; Especially a monarch. Possessing supreme or ultimate power.”
The scriptures help define God’s sovereignty in greater depth, for these are HIS WORDS.
God is sovereign and His rule is SUPREME! His power over all creation is intertwined throughout His word.
GOD existed before time began.
As we read in Genesis chapter 1, we were CREATED by GOD.
We are not an accident but created by the handiwork of our Awesome Creator…GOD, who created us for HIS glory.
We were created with a purpose and a plan!
“But because of his great love for us,
God, who is rich in mercy,
made us alive with Christ
even when we were dead in transgressions –
it is by grace you have been saved.
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”
We are GOD’S WORKMANSHIP which God prepared LONG before we were born!
We are made in HIS IMAGE and a reflection of Him. As Christians we live our lives to bring GOD glory. In Christ we become heirs to HIS throne.
He has planted eternity in the human heart…
We were created with a soul that will live forever, either with God in His glorious eternal kingdom, or outside of His Light. That choice will be up to each of us.
King David praised the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, saying
“Praise be to you, O LORD,
God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power,
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you,
you are the ruler of all things,
In your hands are strength and power.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.”
In 2 Samuel we read about God’s unparalleled greatness and power!
The prophet Isaiah shared these words of wisdom in Chapter
“I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me…
In the book of Job we read about Job who was blameless and upright: he feared God and shunned evil.
Job was tested as he journeyed with God throughout his life. It took Job some time for him to come to an understanding that he was a guilty sinner, not for what he had done but for who he was, and that he had neither the cause nor the right to justify himself or to question the mighty Hand of our omniscient and omnipotent God. For a time, all Job had was a shallow knowledge of God, but after his encounter with the Lord, he was given a deeper and more intimate awareness of Who God truly is!
“After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before.

“The LORD blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the first. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. And he also had seven sons and three daughters…
vs. 15
“After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation. And so he died, old and full of years.”
The Apostle Paul reminds us of what God said to Moses in Chapter of the book of Romans…
Nothing can thwart or stop God’s plan or purposes.
“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!”
The LORD reigns in an eternal kingdom…
It is His desire that all mankind live with Him forever.
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
“Who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
“The LORD is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness,
but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish,
but that all should reach repentance.“
We long to hear the words spoken in ….
We have much work to do to share the good news of Jesus Christ with all the world.
This is our true purpose here on earth.
