We were created by God for His glory.   The ultimate purpose of mankind, is to glorify God!
Ephesians 1:12  “In order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.

The one common theme in the book of Psalms is praise to God.  Many Psalms were written with the primary purpose of praising God. These are called psalms of praise.
Psalm 100:2-3  we are told to worship God with gladness and “know that the LORD is God.”

Part of what it looks like to glorify God is to acknowledge who God is….our Creator.   To praise and worship Him as such.

Since God created us in His image – Genesis 1:26-27, man’s purpose cannot be fulfilled apart from Him.

We fulfill our purpose of glorifying God also by living our lives in relationship and faithful service to Him.

King Solomon tried living for his own pleasure, yet at the end of his life, he concluded that the only worthwhile life is one of honor and obedience to God…
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:

Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the duty of all mankind.

For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.

Through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, our relationship with God is reconciled, our sin is forgiven and no longer creates a barrier between God and us.

Psalm 8:4-6  and again in Hebrews 2:6-8
What is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet.”

The more we know our Creator and what He has done,  the more we love Him!

Matthew 22:37-38    Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and the greatest commandment.

The better we understand who we are, who HE IS,   and what our purpose is here on earth, we can find true peace, hope & joy for we were created to bring HIM GLORY.

1 Corinthians 10:31
So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
The psalms of praise extol the virtue and power of the Lord. The God of Israel is praised for His handiwork in nature…

Psalm 89:4  “I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.

Psalm 148:3  “Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars!
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus was with his disciples.   Jesus knew that his time on earth was coming to an end.  As Jesus prayed to the Father, He expressed His desire to glorify God, and complete the work that He was sent to do on earth.  Jesus had total submission and was obedient to God’s will.   Jesus’s act of obedience glorified God and demonstrated His power and perfect plan, which was carried out by JESUS!
John 17:4
“I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.”

Praise God for His perfect plan of salvation…
Psalm 111:9 ” He provided redemption for his people;  he ordained his covenant forever – holy and awesome is his name.
Praise God for His wonderful attributes, such as lovingkindness and patience…
Psalm 89:13-14   “Your arm is endowed with power;  your hand is strong, your right hand exalted.
Psalm 130:7  “Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.
Our singing should reflect our grateful praise to God.
Psalm 147:1
Praise the Lord.
How good it is to sing praises to our God,
how pleasant and fitting to praise him!”

MAY WE KEEP SINGING HIS PRAISES:
HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD

How Great Is Our God the zoe group Acappella – A Cappella

The splendor of a King,

clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice,
all the earth rejoice.
He wraps Himself in Light,
And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice.
How GREAT is our GOD, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God.
And Age to age He stands,
And time is in His hands.
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end.
The Godhead Three in One
Father, Spirit, Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb
How Great is our God,
Sing with me How Great is our God,
And all will see, how Great, How Great is our God!
How Great is our God,
Sing with me How Great, is our God
And all will see,
How Great, How Great is our God!
How Great is our God
