Good morning church family,

GIVING THANKS:

Thanks to all who have contributed to the single Mother and daughter whom we have adopted this holiday.   May God be glorified and may this family be blessed.  Thanks again to Kaydene Hodge for her efforts here to promote kindness, generosity and wonderful opportunities to help others.

Thanks to all who serve humbly and behind the scenes here at Trumbull.  God is glorified.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

Leo Benevento continues to be stable, although he is dealing with high pain levels.   The doctors are on top of his condition. They are having him start the hyperbaric chamber soon and also start with pain management as well.  Continued prayers for complete healing.
We are asking for prayers for our daughter-in-law Jessica who was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes.   Her due date was initially February 3rd but they may bump it up to mid to late January since the baby is getting so big.

John Cooper, a former minister here and long time friend had a stroke on Monday.   He is in the hospital now and they hope to have him in rehab soon.  Since his daughter Deborah got him to the hospital asap, he should recover without any complications.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SARAH AND MARK SEAMAN!
Tracie & Jim Walkup’s daughter and Son-in-law are having IDENTICAL  TWIN boys!  Their due date is slated for May 2026 but God is in complete control.   This is going to be SO MUCH FUN!   Prayers for all!

This time of year Christmas trees are decorated with all kinds of beautiful ornaments!  Some popular ornaments are cute little winged cherubs, or angels with beautiful wings.

Scripture shares a lot about Angels.   Certainly more  than we can include in this email.

Angels are spiritual beings created by God.

Colossians 1:16 -20

“For in him all things were created:  things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.  For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

The word Angel means “messenger“.   Angels are Ambassadors for God.   They act under God’s authority and represent God.

Angels are not our mediator, for there is only One Mediator, who is Jesus Christ.

Angels played a large role in delivering scripture to mankind…

Stephen – Acts 7:53 “You who have received the law that was given through angels but have not obeyed it.”

Moses to Deuteronomy 33:2

The LORD came from Sinai and dawned over them from Seir; he shone forth from Mount Paran.  He came with myriads of Angels..”

Every mention of Angels in the New Testament is surrounded by a focus on the excellence of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 1:1-5

“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.  The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirsFor to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father?

Hebrews 1:7-8 “In speaking of the angels he says, “He makes his angels spirits, and his servants flames of fire.”
John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.  We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Hebrews 2:9 “ But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
In Luke chapter 2 we are called to remember that God’s salvation has come near to us, not in grandeur but in meekness, teaching us that His ways are not the world’s ways.  Joy, peace, and redemption are found in HIM alone!

Luke 2:8-15
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the LORD appeared to them, and the glory of the LORD shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you: he is Christ the LORD.  This will be a sign to you:  You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,  “Glory to God in the highest,  and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”  When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Lets go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the LORD has told us about.”
A multitude of angels appear to shepherds, proclaiming
GLORY to GOD in the HIGHEST heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”   Luke 2:14
Who commands the Angels?
Psalm 91:11  “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”
Psalm 103:20 “Praise the Lord, you his angels you mighty ones who do his bidding who obey his word.”
Daniel 6;22 “My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions.  They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.”

Angels are in AWE of GOD
Luke 1:11-12 “Then an angel of the LORD appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear.”
The Hebrew word cherubim refers to powerful spiritual beings, while the singular cherub evolved in art (around the 1700’s) & paintings and artifacts depicted them as baby-like-figures, distinct from the biblical descriptions.

Cherubim  are mentioned over 90 times in scripture.   In Genesis 3:24 after Adam and Eve sinned and were banished from the Garden of Eden.  Cherubim serve as a guardians of sacred places and God’s glory.

Cherubim were placed at Eden’s entrance.
Genesis 3:23-24
“So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.  After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.”

In Exodus 25:18, golden cherubim on the Ark’s mercy seat, face each other.  They symbolize His holiness and majesty.
In Ezekiel, God uses visions which describe cherubim as complex, wheeled creatures with four faces, wings and eyes, accompanying God’s throne.

In the book of Psalms, God is described as “enthroned between the cherubim.”
Isaiah was given a description of the glimpse of Heaven and describes Serafim.   Serafim Praise GOD in His direct presence, proclaiming HIS HOLINESS.
Isaiah 6:1-3
“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the LORD, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.   Above him were seraphim, each with six wings:  With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.  And they were calling to one another:
“Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”
Angels are called to PRAISE GOD

Psalm 148:2    “Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts.

Psalm 148:5    “Let them praise the name of the Lord, for at his command they were created.”
Angels were created to serve CHRIST.
Luke 2:10 “But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”

Revelation 22:9  “But he said to me, “Don’t do that!  I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll.   Worship God!”
How many angels are there?  An innumerable number!
Genesis 2:1
“Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.
Matthew 26:51-53
John’s vision of Heaven Revelation 5:11
Thousands upon thousands, and 10 thousand times ten thousand
We are immeasurably blessed to worship a CREATOR who loves us beyond measure and nothing can separate us from HIS LOVE.
Romans 8:38 -39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,
neither the present nor the future,
nor any powers,
neither height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God
that is in
Christ Jesus our Lord.”
ANGELS WILL BE THERE AT JUDGEMENT
Matthew 13:39 -49

The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.”
and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvestis the end of the age,and the harvesters are angels.

40 “As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. 41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42 They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear….

Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish. When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away. This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Angels are so much more than the little ornaments we hang on our Christmas trees.

May we  focus on the POWER &  GLORY of GOD and our HOPE & SALVATION in JESUS CHRIST!
WE GET TO KEEP SINGING:
HOLY, HOLY, HOLY

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning
Our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns
Around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
Who was, and is, and evermore shall be.

Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man
Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in power, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy name,
In earth, and sky, and sea;
Holy, holy, holy; merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

Hebrews 12:22-23

But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem.
You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven.
You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect.”
Revelation 5:11-12

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand.
They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.
In a loud voice they were saying:
“Worthy is the Lamb,
who was slain,
to receive power and wealth
and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!

To God be the glory great things He hath done!
