With a baby’s first steps, a whole new world opens up for them to explore!  When you think of an infant, so perfect and pure, they are a clean blank slate, with so much to learn!
As children of God, we adults still have so much to learn.   Hopefully and most of all, we will grow spiritually and be the beacon of light that God wants us to be!

In this scripture the Psalmist shares his deep rooted desire for God to teach Him the way to go, and he has complete trust in GOD.
As we read on in the following verses, David reiterates that anyone whose hope is in GOD, will never be put to shame AND that their enemies will never triumph over them!

Psalm 25:1-7

“To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
in you I trust, O my God.
Do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.

No one whose hope is in you
will ever be put to shame,
but they will be put to shame who are
  treacherous without excuse.

Show me your ways, O LORD,
   teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.

Remember, O LORD,
   your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth,
  and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you are good, O LORD.  “
David asks GOD to show him God’s ways… to teach him God’s paths, and guide him in HIS truth.
HIS HOPE is in GOD ALL DAY LONG!
Just as a child grows up learning to trust their Father and Mother who will help them put one foot in front of the other, we too as children of God, should be growing spiritually and learning THE WAY to the Father.
The foundation for all lessons whether young or old, is to be on our knees in humility and have a heart right with GOD.   Humility is the ability to be without pride or arrogance, and it is a principal character that should be seen in those who follow Jesus Christ.   Jesus is the perfect example of someone who had no sin, who humbly obeyed and followed God’s plan for His life.
In Psalms 25 verse 9 we read that GOD guides the humble in what is right and teaches them HIS WAY.

We must train our children in the way they should go, and give them a solid foundation of FAITH.  To teach them that JESUS is the cornerstone of our FAITH, and also strive to be the examples of FAITHFULNESS that they need to see.  We must always be growing in the LORD and studying His Holy word.

The scriptures teach us that although we make plans in life, it is GOD who directs our steps!

Our greatest teacher is JESUS CHRIST.
Before Jesus began his earthly ministry, the Holy Spirit guided him to be alone in the desert where He fasted for 40 days.   He became vulnerable physically, and quoted scripture to ward off the evil one.
Matthew 4:1-11
“Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.  After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’

Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,

and they will lift you up in their hands,

so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”

Jesus answered him, It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

“All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only. “

Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him. “

After 40 days and nights of fasting, Jesus faced three temptations from Satan.  Each one attempts to lure Christ into abusing His power.  Jesus resists each temptation with a quote from Deuteronomy, refusing to rebel against the plans of God the Father.  Finally, Jesus refuses to worship the devil, in exchange for the kingdoms of the earth.  Jesus tells the devil to leave, and then angels came to minister to Him.
Passing down GOD’s word to our children and grand-children will only empower them to overcome sin and the deceit of the evil one in this world.  We read in Psalm 119:11 “ I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”  Keep bringing your children to bible class and worship, and keep coming yourself!

IN CHRIST,  we are triumphant over the evil one!
IN CHRIST, we can be strong in the LORD, and He will fight our battles for us!
IN CHRIST, we teach our children to put on the full armor that God has provided for us, so that we can stand firm against the devil’s schemes!

When we follow the LORD, we have NOTHING to fear!
Inline image2c44426d-b277-9b35-55a0-661292ed5719@yahoo.com>”>
Psalm 27: 1-4 the Psalmist continues to remind us…
The LORD is my LIGHT and my SALVATION –

    whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the stronghold of my life –

of whom shall I be afraid?

When evil men advance against me,

    to devour my flesh,

when my enemies and my foes attack me,

    they will stumble and fall.

Though an army besiege me,

     my heart will not fear;

though war break out against me,

even then will I be confident.
Parents, Grand-Parents, Great- Grand Parents, keep on being a Christian example to your children & their children and all future generations.

KEEP SINGING:
UNTO THEE OH LORD
Unto Thee Oh LORD,
Do I lift up my soul,
Unto Thee Oh LORD,
Do I lift up my soul,
Oh my GOD,
I trust in Thee,
Let me not be ashamed,
Let not my enemies, triumph over me.
Ye let none that wait,
On Thee be ashamed,
Ye let none that wait,
On Thee be ashamed,
Oh My God,
I trust in thee,
Let me not be ashamed,
Let not my enemies, triumph over me.
ONE THING I ASK OF THE LORD
One thing I ask of the Lord
This is what I seek
One thing I ask of the Lord
This is what I seek
May I dwell in the house of the Lord?
(Dwell in the house of the Lord)
May I dwell in the house of the Lord?
(Dwell in the house of the Lord)
To seek Him in His temple
To gaze upon His beauty

Repeat All

One thing I ask of the Lord
This is what I seek
One thing I ask of the Lord
This is what I seek
One thing I ask of the Lord
This is what I seek
One thing I ask of the Lord

As we learn about GOD’S ways, may we find comfort and strength that JESUS has paid it all…for US!
JESUS is our Victory!
1 Corinthians 15:57
but thanks be to God,

who gives us the victory

through our Lord Jesus Christ.
In CHRIST, we are heirs to the throne of God.
Romans 8:17
“Now if we are children, then we are heirs –

heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ,

if indeed we share in his sufferings

in order that we may also share in his glory.”
