The birth of a human being is simply awe inspiring, let alone how God is intertwined in every aspect of our lives. Human creation from it’s beginning, the embryo stage, is a mystery and a wonder known only to God!
The Psalmist David wrote the 139th psalm and he beautifully captures the infinite knowledge of God in this writing. This is a Psalm that teaches us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by an amazing Creator. We read about the fullness of God’s knowledge and that we cannot run from God. God’s presence is with us from the beginning of our lives, and He remains with us throughout our lives.
This Psalm is one to read, to re-read, and keep reading.
Everything we do, think and say, even before our actions occur, is recorded in His book.
David captures God’s deity & knowledge, His presence, His power, and His holiness. He also sets an attitude of profound intimacy with our Creator, who knows us more intimately than we know ourselves!
We have NOT evolved…we were CREATED. Created magnificently by God, and designed with a specific purpose, to Glorify Him.
“O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
You perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
You are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
You know it completely, O LORD.
You hem me in- behind and before;
You have laid your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
Too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
If I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
If I settle on the far side off the sea,
Even there your hand will guide me,
Your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me.”
Even the darkness will not be dark to you;
The night will shine like the day,
For darkness is as light to you.
For you created my inmost being;
You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
Your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written in your book
Before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts,
O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
They would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.
If only you would slay the wicked,
O God!
Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!
They speak of you with evil intent
Your adversaries misuse your name.
Do I not hate those who hate you,
O LORD,
And abhor those who rise up against you?
I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.”
Our only hope is God! He searches our hearts, and knows every one of our thoughts, motives, and actions before they happen. With God, there is complete transparency. He knows every detail of our past, present, and future.
God’s very presence casts out all darkness, and we have nothing to fear.
“Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.” John 1:3-5
David asked God to search his own heart, to see if there was any offensive way in him, in order that He can lead him to eternity. We need to emulate this in our own lives, to look inward and create a heart that is right with God.
God’s word is perfectly clear; it is not ambiguous; it is not complicated; it is not hard to understand. Life is a gift from God. Why is there even a thought or a mutter, let alone riots, about taking the life of a newborn infant, when God has designed this life for His glory? Deuteronomy 5:17 “Thou shalt not murder”.The prophet Jeremiah shared, “Before I formed you in the womb, I know you. Before you were born, I set you apart” Jeremiah 1:5
Keep singing!PSALM 139 , Hallal
Lord you read my very heart
You who know the least thing
You who see me from afar
Sleeping or arising.
Lord before me and behind,
Infinite and ageless,
Such a knowledge is too high,
I cannot attain it.
If to heaven I would fly,
You would be beside me,
If in Sheol I would lie
Even there You’d find me.
If I plant on morning wings,
Far beyond the gray sea,
Even there Your hand would lead,
Your right hand would guide me.
How wonderful,
How marvelous,
How mighty are You God,
The darkness is
As light to You,
How boundless are Your ways…
In the secret of the womb,
I was formed and molded.
By your skillful hand alone,
Wonderfully woven.
You have numbered all my days,
Long before You gave them.
In the pages of Your book,
They have all been written.
High and wondrous are your thoughts,
Vast beyond all telling.
If I count them they grow more,
I can never grasp them.
Search me God and know my heart.
Let evil never find me,
Lead me on your righteous path,
Sure and everlasting.
Lead me on your righteous path,
Sure and everlasting.
CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART
Create in me a clean heart,
Oh God,
And renew a right spirit within me.
Create in me a clean heart,
Oh God,
And renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not a way from Your presence, Oh LORD,
And take not Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore unto me,
The joy of my salvation,
And renew a right spirit within me.
CHANGE MY HEART O GOD
Change my heart oh God
Make it ever true
Change my heart oh God
May I be like YouYou are the potter
I am the clay
Mold me and make me
This is what I prayChange my heart oh God
Make it ever true
Change my heart oh God
May I be like YouLord, You are the Potter and I am the clay.

“You LORD are our Father, we are the clay.” Isaiah 64:8“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
May God lead us all in the way everlasting!
