GIVING THANKS:
* Levi Vuto whom we have been praying for had his MRI which came out clear for no internal masses or cancer. He will need to see a pediatric ocular specialist next to discuss potential options to alleviate some pressure on his eye and lip area. He does face future surgeries. The family is grateful for all of the prayers offered on his behalf.
* Thanks to Zach and Tori for leading the Young Adult Lock in last weekend! They started their weekend off with Jay cooking a delicious barbecue dinner, then an evening of games, fun, bible study and fellowship. The girls were up early making breakfast. If anyone wants to know how to cook ‘fried Oreos’, ask Kevon! Praise God for these young adults who are on fire for the LORD!

PRAYER REQUESTS:
* Continued prayers for Jay & Flo’s son & daughter-in-law, who is carrying their grand-baby who is still measuring below weight. The doctors are on top of things since she is high risk, but God is bigger.
* Michelle’s brother Al Wilson is now in rehab and will begin chemo soon.
* The Saracino’s have requested prayers for Sally Kiman who’s son Peter passed away from cancer. Peter was a close childhood friend of Ron. Our prayers for all.
* Nancy’s husband is dealing with much pain from spinal stenosis. Prayers for him to be open to the gospel message as well.
CHURCH LIBRARY:
If anyone is in need of Christian resource material we have an extensive library at the church building that includes Christian parenting, Marriage counseling, and more. The library is located behind the right door in the front of the auditorium Please feel free to peruse the book shelves and take what you wish to read. It’s an honor system so simply return the book when you are finished.

REMINDER TO HELP BUILD UP OUR IN-HOUSE FOOD PANTRY
Our in-house food pantry in the building could use some re-stocking with pasta, non-perishables, etc. Grocery store gift cards can also be given to Ron as he ministers to many families in need. Thanks to all who have contributed to this through the years.

God is mighty, and mighty to save. His power is unequaled.
Our mighty God, gave us His one and ONLY Son, the Prince of Glory. He knew we needed a Savior and provided us THE WAY to get to Him, through JESUS CHRIST. He who had to suffer and die, before rising again is the ONLY way to GOD.
This deep, powerful, sacrifice shows the wonderful, amazing, breathtaking, powerful, HOLY character and GREAT LOVE of our Father in Heaven.
JESUS CHRIST is our ultimate example of humility. Out of obedience to His Father, He humbled Himself all the way, through torture and to the point of death on the cross. Because of this, God exalted HIM.
Even more mind boggling, those who obey Christ’s commands, and follow Him, will be exalted!
Philippians 2:8-11
“And being found in human form,
He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death,
even death on a cross.
Therefore God has highly exalted Him
and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name,
so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD,
to the glory of God the Father.”
If it weren’t for Jesus being willing to go to the cross for our sins, we would not be able to have a relationship with God the Father.

In 1 Peter 5:5-6 Peter addresses younger Christians who are not leaders in the church and, less mature in their walk of faith. He urges them to practice humility in all of their relationships—with elders, other believers, and with God:

Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another,
for ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’
Humble yourselves,
therefore, under the mighty hand of God
so that at the proper time he may exalt you.”
To humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God means to trust in the Lord’s power, recognizing that our strength comes from Him and not ourselves . This involves accepting His sovereign reign in our lives, submitting to the elders, and acting humbly toward our brothers and sisters in the body of Christ.

When Peter says, “Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God,” he is reminding Jewish Christians of the Lord’s unequaled power. God’s “mighty hand” and “outstretched arm” have humbled Israel and brought His people to repentance over and over again.
We all know that Peter bragged that he would always remain faithful to Christ, choosing to die, rather than ever denying Him “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will” Matthew 26:33 . Yet Peter , in all of his humanness, soon spiraled to depths of denial of Jesus before the rooster crowed. Luke 22:54-61
Jesus extended His mercy and grace upon Peter, and looked beyond his sin and LIFTED HIM UP.

Ephesians 4:2 the Apostle Paul shares… “As a prisoner for the Lord, then I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle, be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and One Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
To live humbly under the mighty hand of GOD….1 Peter 5:6-7
We extend the same mercy and grace which has been given to us, to others. Matthew 5:7

We continue to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12

We accept whatever trials come our way, regardless of the severity, for we know that God has the power to deliver us through that storm. Colossians 1:16
By humbling ourselves before His throne, He guides us in what is right and teaches us His way.

In closing…
It is far better for followers of Christ to humble themselves under God’s mighty hand, than to reach the point of needing to be humbled by God.
Each of us gets to choose how we will respond to adversity.
We can either fret and chafe under the Lord’s mighty hand, or we can accept the tests that God sends our way.
We can trust in His faithfulness, knowing His hand is strong to deliver us.
We can offer our worries and cares to Him, knowing He will take care of us.
God will give us the grace we need to endure so that His power is made perfect in our weakness, and He will lift us up at the proper time.
