Good morning church family,
SHARING A FEW PHOTOS OF SOME OF OUR PROUD FATHERS FROM FATHER’S DAY LAST WEEK

GIVING THANKS!
Thanks to Michelle Wilson for leading our last Saturday morning bible study on Faithfulness. Michelle did a great job! We’ve had a wonderful study on the Fruit of the Spirit this past year! Thanks to all of the women who have taken the time to lead us in a rich series of lessons.
Thanks to the men who attended the men’s retreat last weekend. Trumbull was well represented and the men who attended were edified by the brotherhood and message.
We thank you for your patience while we still work out some kinks in sending this email through the church website. Each week when scriptures are included, somehow the scriptures we list are sometimes not included. We apologize for this since the scripture reference is essential! We have all of the scriptures if anyone would like them from past newsletters. We are still figuring out why these scriptures are not included (it makes no sense why they are cut off) but we will continue to press on and figure it out. Thanks again for your patience and understanding.
PRAYER REQUESTS
Deborah Christy is asking for prayers for her nephew’s wife Monica Christy who is suffering from two forms of cancer.

What is DIEL VERTICAL MIGRATION (DVM)?
Diel vertical migration (DVM) happens daily yet many people are unaware of what it is. DVM is a daily, synchronized movement of aquatic organisms between the surface and deeper waters of oceans and lakes. It is the largest migration on Earth, involving countless small animals from fish to tiny crustaceans.
Every night, billions and billions of these animals, mostly zoo plankton migrate up and down in the ocean all over the planet. When we are sleeping, these aquatic animals follow a circadian rhythm that affects all of our ecosystem. These animals swim up to food-rich surface waters at night to feed when light is scarce and they are “hidden” from predators that rely on light to sense their prey. The migrators then return to the depths before the sun rises. This daily night-time migration reduces ultraviolet damage to their DNA and they use currents to move to areas with more food then they return back to the colder deeper waters where they thrive.
The pattern of this migration is directly tied to the daily cycle of the sun.

Here is a better graphical image to view vertical migration.
Migrating hatchetfish are found in deep waters during the day, evading surface predators in the ocean’s twilight zone. At night they travel upwards to the water’s surface to feed in the shallow waters.

Scientists have determined that the primary reason for this journey is a trade-off between feeding and safety.By feeding at the surface only under the cover of darkness and retreating to the dark depths during the day to hide, these animals reduce their risk of being eaten.
There is no doubt that LIGHT gives LIFE!
In scripture, we read a lot about LIGHT and RISING UP. Symbolically LIGHT refers to the Light of Christ and the Glory of God .
RISING UP signifies so many things… the resurrection of JESUS, transformation, seeking God’s presence and guidance which LIFTS US UP, and overcoming of adversity to name a few.
SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION
Ephesians 5:13 & 14 is about the call to live in the LIGHT of CHRIST, exposing and dispelling darkness through TRUTH and RIGHTEOUSNESS. This book reminds us all to wake up from our spiritual slumber, to RISE UP and shine the LIGHT OF CHRIST in the midst of a dark and broken world. As the first light of dawn begins to filter through, we are filled with hope and renewed purpose, ready to face whatever challenges come our way.
Ephesians 5:13-14 “But when anything is exposed by the light,
it becomes visible,
for anything that becomes visible is light.
Therefore it says,
“Awake O sleeper,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.“
1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen race,
a royal priesthood,
a holy nation,
a people for his own possession,
that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you
out of darkness into his marvelous LIGHT.“

GOD HELPS US OVERCOME EVIL
John 1:5 “The LIGHT shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.“
Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.“

GOD IS ALWAYS PRESENT, no matter where we go!
Whether we are in the highest place or the deepest darkest valley,God’s presence is constant. God’s presence transcends the physical realm for He is the CREATOR of HEAVEN & EARTH.
Psalm 139:7-10 “Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Where can I flee from Your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, You are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, You are there.”
Isaiah 66:1 “This is what the LORD says:
‘Heaven is My throne,
and the earth is My footstool.
Where is the house you will build for ME?
Where will My resting place be?”

RESTORATION & REBUILDING:
Isaiah 45:7
“I form LIGHT and created darkness;
I make well-being and create calamity;
I am the LORD, who does all these things.“
1 John 2:8-11 “At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you,
which is true in him and in you,
because the darkness is passing away and the
true light is already shining.
Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness.
Whoever loves his brother abides in the LIGHT, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.“
RESURRECTION & NEW LIFE:
We are triumphant in Christ, PRAISE GOD!
In Christ, we have ultimate triumph over death and the promise of eternal life because He rose from the dead. We have the HOPE OF SALVATION and WILL RISE!
Colossians 3:1 “If then you have been raised with Christ,
seek the things that are above, where Christ is,
seated at the right hand of God.“
Ephesians 2:4-6 “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses,
made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved –
And raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.“
1 Peter 2: 9 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim
the excellencies of him who called you out of the darkness,
into his marvelous LIGHT.“
John 12:46 “I have come into the world as LIGHT,
so that whoever believes in me
may not remain in darkness.”

KEEP SINGING:
I WILL RISE
There’s a peace I’ve come to know Though my heart and flesh may fail There’s an anchor for my soul I can say “It is well”
Jesus has overcome And the grave is overwhelmed The victory is won He is risen from the dead
And I will rise when He calls my name No more sorrow, no more pain I will rise on eagles’ wings Before my God fall on my knees And rise I will rise
There’s a day that’s drawing near When this darkness breaks to light And the shadows disappear And my faith shall be my eyes
Jesus has overcome And the grave is overwhelmed The victory is won He is risen from the dead
And I will rise when He calls my name No more sorrow, no more pain I will rise on eagles’ wings Before my God fall on my knees And rise I will rise
And I hear the voice of many angels sing, “Worthy is the Lamb” And I hear the cry of every longing heart, “Worthy is the Lamb”
And I hear the voice of many angels sing, “Worthy is the Lamb” And I hear the cry of every longing heart, “Worthy is the Lamb”
And I will rise when He calls my name No more sorrow, no more pain I will rise on eagles’ wings Before my God fall on my knees And rise I will rise

We can learn a lot from the fish of the deep who seek the LIGHT in order to survive and thrive in the darkness.
God in all of HIS GLORY, provides us with an abundance of scripture which points us UPWARD in countless ways to LIVE IN THE GLORY OF HIS LIGHT and RISE!
1 John 1: 7 “But if we walk in the LIGHT, as HE is in the LIGHT,
We have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of JESUS HIS SON cleanses us
from all sin.”
TO GOD BE THE GLORY, GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE!
