Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift!

Good morning church family,

GIVING THANKS:
John Cooper is home from the hospital and doing better, however he still has challenges with his right side.  He can walk short distances by himself now.

Greg Belcher (Barb Wangerin’s brother in Christ who came in contact with voltage several months ago) whom we have been praying for,  is finally home with his family.   He continues to redefine his abilities and new life without an arm.

Thanks to Brother Wiley Mullins for his wonderful idea of creating BRIGHT RED BAGSOne Meal at a Time project which will help us to remember to bring in some non-perishable foods in each week for Spooner House!   Before passing out the red bags last Sunday, Wiley  filled them all with food for all of our families here in Trumbull.  Wow!   Thank you Wiley for your kind and generous heart.  The bags will be a reminder to us all to remember those in need.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

Leo Benevento: On Tuesday, after several weeks of anti-fungal treatments, Leo had another scan on Tuesday,  and the results showed NO fungal infection. We praise God for answered prayers.  There is power in prayer! Please continue to pray that his recovery continues to move forward, and his health improves each day.  God is Good…All the Time!

Prayers for all of our seniors who are struggling with many physical challenges.

Dorothea Cooper fell and asked us to keep her in our prayers.
Allie Saracino turned 90 yesterday and continues to take care of Cherie who has Alzheimer’s.
Mike and Paula Ross have several health challenges going on.

Jim Walkup’s brother Sam is not doing well.  Prayers for his comfort and God’s will to prevail.  Also prayers for Jim and family.

Ashley Stephens asks for prayers for her sister Olivia who is struggling with intense pain in her jaw. Ashleys Mother Mary and Aunt Betty are there now with her, and her Mom is concerned.

Prayers for all who have lost loved ones.   The holidays are so tough for all who grieve.    All continue to be in our prayers for strength and wisdom. God is carrying you through.

The dust has settled somewhat from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holiday.

All of the material gifts that have been shopped for,  paid for, wrapped and even exchanged, have been opened.

Depending on what was inside the box, some gifts were received with abounding JOY!

while others, not so…depending on the gift!

Some gifts may fade, break or become obsolete.    And others, may be around for a while!

The Apostle Paul shares a powerful declaration of gratitude  in 2 Corinthians 9:15 “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!    God’s ultimate gift to man is something that cannot be described with mere words.

The definition of ‘ indescribable’  is that which cannot be uttered; that which cannot be expressed;  un-uterable;  as with unspeakable grief or rage.

In 2 Corinthians 12:4 we read about Paul’s experience where he was “caught up to paradise” and  heard  “inexpressible things, which no human is permitted to tell“.   The divine revelations were too profound, sacred, or beyond human language to fully convey.

Peter describes the deep, unseen faith of believers in Jesus Christ, in 1 Peter 1:8, highlighting that even though they haven’t seen Him physically, they love Him, believe in Him, and experience  Inexplicable and glorious joy” because of His saving love and gift of eternal life.    An inexplicable JOY which surpasses earthly troubles!

Joy unspeakable and full of glory.   1 Peter 1:8.

God’s gracious provision of His one and only Son Jesus Christ and the salvation He offers, is a gift that we humans cannot grasp.    A gift which enables eternal life, making all other blessings possible.  This sacrificial gift of LOVE, demonstrates LOVE in its finest form.  The gift of Jesus Christ is so immense, so costly, and so loving that no human words can fully capture its value, or the depth of God’s LOVE behind it.  It surpasses anything we could earn or imagine!

John 1:14

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father,

full of grace and truth.”

The gift of Jesus Christ provides lasting HOPE, JOY and PEACE that are not dependent on external circumstances as we read in John 14:27.

The gift of Jesus Christ is freely given to all who choose to accept it through faith.

Romans 6:23“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord“.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world

that he gave his one and only Son,

that whoever believes in him

shall not perish but have eternal life.

God’s love for us is immeasurable.

Jesus’ life, death and resurrection offers us all the opportunity to live eternally in His kingdom, forever.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved through faith – and this is not from yourselves,

it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast”.

Romans 8:32

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things.

The gift of Jesus provides ongoing forgiveness for sins, and God’s mercy and grace.  In Christ we have eternal life!

The gift of Jesus gives our lives meaning and purpose, fulfilling humanity’s greatest need.   We are made righteous before God, by Christ’s sacrifice.  We have peace, hope, love and purpose.

The gift of JESUS IS GOOD NEWS!  Luke 4:18-19

Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift!
WE GET TO SHARE  GOD’S UNSPEAKABLE GIFT WITH ALL OF THE WORLD!
KEEP SINGING:
AMAZING GRACE

Amazing grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come,
‘Tis grace has brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’ve first begun.

YOUR GRACE STILL AMAZES ME

My faithful Father, enduring Friend
Your tender mercy’s like a river with no end.

It overwhelms me, covers my sin
Each time I come into Your presence
I stand in wonder once again

Your Grace still amazes me
Your love is still a mystery
Each Day I fall on my knees
Your grace still amazes me
Your grace still amazes me

Oh, patient Savior, you make me whole
You are the Author and the Healer of my soul

What can I give You,

Lord, what can I say I know there’s no way to repay You
Only to offer You my praise

Your Grace still amazes me
Your love is still a mystery
Each Day I fall on my knees
Your grace still amazes me
Your grace still amazes me

It’s deeper, it’s wider
It’s stronger, it’s higher
It’s deeper, it’s wider
It’s stronger, it’s higher than anything my Eyes can see

Your Grace still amazes me
Your love is still a mystery
Each Day I fall on my knees
Your grace still amazes me
Your grace still amazes me!

PRAISE THE LORD!

To God be the glory great things He hath done!
