GIVING THANKS:
*    We give much thanks that Jessica Bonadio is finally home from the hospital.  Praise God she is better, but she still has a ways to go to gain the strength to be able to hold her babies on her own.  Thanks to all for your prayers.
*    Thanks to Kevon Turner for teaching our congregation two new songs last Sunday!    We thank God for Kevon and his willingness to lead singing here at Trumbull, teach at Tidal River Christian Camp and be a fine example of our Young Adults.  Kevon has fervor, loves the LORD and it shows.
*    Thanks to Tracie Robertson who is our new cradle roll bible class teacher!  When D.J. Saw her on Sunday morning he gave this HUGE BEAMING smile, took hold of her hand, and together they walked to his bible class.     A precious moment indeed!  Praise God for Tracie’s commitment to teach God’s word to our babies & toddlers each week, and Praise God for Derin & Kristen’s commitment to bringing their children to hear God’s word each week!  God is glorified!

*    A big thanks to Lisa Saracino for organizing our Ladies Fellowship night last night.  There was a great turn-out and it was a fun evening.  The movie ‘Ordinary Angels’ is based on a true story of a little girl who is dying, and is certainly a movie to see.  Lisa made the wildflower candle centerpieces herself!
Here are some photos to share:

PRAYER REQUESTS:
*    Ashley Stephens requested prayers for her Aunt Betty (whom we’ve prayed for recently & lost her husband in January), who lost her oldest son Timmy Adams on Sunday evening. Prayers as well for Tyson (Timmy’s brother) who is extremely fearful that his entire immediate family is “disappearing before his eyes.”  Very difficult situation, prayers for all. Ashley’s Mother flew up to be with them.
*    Tom Boston’s cardiologist diagnosed that he has an aneurysm in his heart.

Last Sunday’s worship here at Trumbull  was edifying, and we pray it was a sweet aroma of Praise & Glory to our Father in Heaven.
If you listen closely to the sounds of worship, from the moment everyone enters the building to the close of worship when we depart, there is laughter, joy, encouragement and love shown by all  (from our little ones… all the way up to our seniors!).  We are happy to see each other & voices ring with laughter!
Did anyone happen to hear Eyoko’s son Timmy singing his heart out last Sunday!   Many of us were touched that he poured his heart and soul into his singing, and also by his beautiful voice which stood out in its purest form.
The sound of people congregating before worship is that of joy & gladness.
Visitors are being welcomed,  people are connecting and asking how each other is doing or how they can be of service to someone (i.e. people asking each other “how are you doing”?   people are asking how they can be of help by offering and giving rides home to those in need, setting up times for visitation, etc). It’s a beautiful thing to hear love,  see love,  feel love  and  show agape love with our church family!    From children’s bible classes all the way up to the adult classes, to the wonderful sermons taught by Ron, to the singing and praise of the congregation, to the kindnesses extended within, the LORD is praised!   Our worship is truly a piece of Heaven.
In the Bible, worship describes both a dedicated way of life and a specific activity.  Praising, adoring, and expressing reverence for God, both publicly and privately, are specific acts of worship.

The Greek word for “worship”  proskuneo, means “to encounter God and praise Him!”

For centuries the Jewish people had encountered God in the temple for worship.  But when Jesus arrived on the scene, He spoke metaphorically of Himself as the temple…

Inline image5cc83a65-3527-5f99-dfcd-a070d84741e7@yahoo.com>”>
Through Jesus’s resurrection from the dead, Jesus became the spiritual dwelling place where God and His people would meet..

Matthew 12:6

“I tell you something greater than the temple is here.

Hebrews 10:19-20

“Therefore, brothers and sisters,

since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,

by a new and living way

opened for us through the curtain,

that his his body,

and since we have a great priest over the house of God,

let us draw near to God

with a sincere heart

in full assurance of faith,

having our hearts sprinkled

to cleanse us from a guilty conscience

and having our bodies washed with pure water.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess

for he who promised is faithful.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on

toward love and good deeds.

Let us not give up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing,

but let us encourage one another on toward love and good deeds.”

When we worship, we celebrate GOD’s HOLINESS & DIETY by giving Honor and Glory to His Name!

The Old Testament prophet Jonah shared…

Jonah 1:9

“I am a Hebrew and I worship the LORD,

the God of heaven,

who made the sea and the land.”

The apostle Paul defined worship as an all-encompassing way of life in Romans 12:1
“Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters,

in view of God’s mercy,

to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,

holy and pleasing to God-

this is your true and proper worship

In the church we love and serve each other, we glorify God, reflecting His glory to others!

In Acts 2:42

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching

and to the fellowship,

to the breaking of bread

and to prayer.

The church is the BRIDE OF CHRIST! Ephesians 5:25-27
The purpose and activities of the church as outlined in scripture should be:
TEACHING BIBLICAL DOCTRINE
Ephesians 4:11-15
“It was he who gave some to be apostles,
some to be evangelists,
and some to be pastors and teachers,
to prepare God’s people for works of service,
so that the body of Christ may be built up,
until we all reach unity in the faith
and in the knowledge of the Son of God
and become mature,
attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Then we will no longer be infants,
tossed back and forth by the waves,
and blown here and there by every wind or teaching
and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.

Instead, speaking the truth in love,
we will in all things grow up into him
who is the Head, that is Christ.
From him the whole body,
joined and held together
by every supporting ligament,
grows and builds itself up in love,
as each part does it’s work.”

FELLOWSHIP FOR BELIEVERS
Inline image893094db-ae27-2a57-1e46-e209d04fc8a7@yahoo.com>”>
The church is to be a place of fellowship, where Christians can be devoted to one another and honor one another, instruct & grow with one another, be kind and compassionate to one another, encourage one another and most importantly, love one another!

Each week we are blessed by hearing a message from God’s word. It is our spiritual food that keeps us spiritually healthy.  Each sermon encourages, teaches, instructs, corrects, and spurs us on to “keep on keeping on” as the Hebrew writer tells us.

Hebrews 10:24-25

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Everyone is encouraged to come to worship on every Lord’s day, making it a priority in your life.  We glorify God, grow spiritually, and have the opportunity to love and encourage others.

Romans 12:10 – “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Romans 15:14 – “I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another.”
Ephesians 4:32 – “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11 – “Therefore encourage one another, and build each other  up, just as in fact you are doing.”
1 John 3:11 – “This is the message you heard from the beginning:  We should love one another.
OBSERVING THE LORD’S SUPPER
Inline image7afd7f6d-4d3d-3d56-b5e5-646d9ef86461@yahoo.com>”>
The church is a place where believers come together to observe the Lord’s Supper, remembering Christ’s death and shed blood on our behalf.  Breaking bread as we read in Acts 2:42 refers to us breaking bread… together.

Acts 2:42 – “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

1 Corinthians 11:23-26
“For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you: do this in remembrance of me.”  In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying:  “This cup is the new covenant in my blood: do this whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.
PRAYING
The church is to be a place that promotes prayer, teaches prayer and practices prayer.
Inline imagef09a7262-9e69-6a92-e67f-9ce9ee495275@yahoo.com>”>
PROCLAIMING THE GOSPEL OF SALVATION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST
Inline imageebc5ffa5-026a-2c37-728f-437b5211d0a5@yahoo.com>”>
The church is called to be faithful in sharing the gospel through word and deed. We are to be a “lighthouse” in the community, pointing people toward our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.   We are to promote the gospel, teaching the members to proclaim the gospel.
Matthew 28:18-20 “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
1 Peter 3:15 “Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.
Inline image597d7cbe-206d-4fae-12ab-0b56d87697fb@yahoo.com>”>
We are to minister to those in need.  This includes not only sharing the gospel, but also providing for physical needs food, clothing, shelter as necessary and appropriate.
The church is to equip believers in Christ with the tools they need to overcome sin and remain free from the pollution of the world.  This is done by biblical teaching and Christian fellowship.
The church is God’s hands, mouth and feet in this world – the body of Christ
1 Corinthians 12:12-27
Inline imagea1500d15-062d-823f-3ffd-c4e641e195b0@yahoo.com>”>
To follow Jesus, we need to be doing the things that Jesus Christ would do if He were physically here on earth.    We must be “Christ-like”,  “Christian”  and Christ-following, exhibiting the fruit of the spirit.
SINGING…from the heart.
Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing and making melody in your heart to the LORD.

We are to worship IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH…

Inline image7b111c05-be46-48e0-fbc5-5cf184764105@yahoo.com>”>

In John 4:23-24 Jesus made it clear that…
“A time is coming and has now come

when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth,

for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

God is spirit,

and his worshipers must worship

in the Spirit and in truth.”

GOD IS, and should be,  the object of our worship.

HE ALONE DESERVES OUR PRAISE!

He alone is Worthy!
1 Chronicles 16:25 “For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;  he is to be feared above all gods.”
Worshipping God means giving HIM the absolute worth that He alone deserves, for HE is YAHWEH,  our CREATOR.

Acts 17:28 “For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, ‘we are his offspring.
James 1:17  Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
Revelation 4:11 You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.
HE is our REDEEMER!
Colossians 1:12-13 “..and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.  For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
1 Peter 1:3  “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.
JESUS is LORD
Psalm 22:27  “All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, for dominion belongs to the LORD and he rules over the nations.”
Matthew 14:33 “Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
Inline imagedd02d74e-ea0f-4dd8-2633-168f652f399d@yahoo.com>”>
HUMANS were created to worship GOD –
1 Corinthians 10:31 “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God
Ephesians 1:3-6 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.  In love, he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”
Philippians 2:9-11  “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father.
LET US REJOICE!

KEEP SINGING WITH OUR HEARTS & SOULS TO PRAISE HIM:
The Heart of Worship
When the music fades,
All is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring,
something that’s of worth,
that will bless your heart.
I’ll bring you more than a song
For a song in itself, is not what you have required.
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear,
You’re looking into my heart.
Im coming back to the heart of worship,
When it’s all about you,
It’s all about You Jesus.
I’m sorry, Lord for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about you,
It’s all about you, Jesus
King of endless worth,
No one could express
How much you deserve.
Though I am weak and poor,
All I have is yours,
every single breath.
I’ll bring you more than a song
For a song in itself, is not what you have required.
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear,
You’re looking into my heart.

Im coming back to the heart of worship,
When it’s all about you,
It’s all about You Jesus.
I’m sorry, Lord for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about you,
It’s all about you, Jesus
OPEN THE EYES OF MY HEART LORD
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You,
I want to see You!
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You,
I want to see You!
To see You high and lifted up,
Shinin’ in the light of Your glory!
Pour out Your power and love,
As we sing holy, holy, holy!
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You,
I want to see You!
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You,
I want to see You!
To see You high and lifted up,
Shinin’ in the light of Your glory!
Pour out Your power and love,
As we sing holy, holy, holy!
To see You high and lifted up
Shinin’ in the light of Your glory!
Pour out Your power and love,
As we sing holy, holy, holy!
To see You high and lifted up,
Shinin’ in the light of Your glory!
Pour out Your power and love,
As we sing holy, holy, holy!
Holy, holy, holy,
We cry holy, holy, holy
You are holy, holy, holy!
I want to see you!
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
You are holy, holy, holy!
I want to see you!
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy!
I want to see you!
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy!
I want to see you!
Holy, holy, holy

Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy!
I want to see you!
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy!
I want to see you!
Next time you’re in our building and come to worship, listen & look closely for the sights and sounds of JESUS and you will find HIM!
