Good morning church family,

GIVING THANKS & PRAISE: Leo Benevento went home this past Wednesday, Praise the Lord! This is a true testimony to the power of God working in answering prayers. 1 John 5:14 “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” Thanks to everyone for your prayers for Leo and family. Continued prayers for all as their “to do list” is daunting. They need to keep Leo in a sterile environment and that is requiring the whole family to be stringent about so many things. Our prayers to God Almighty will continue for Leo and all of his family.
Praise God that Ronnie Ralph’s surgery went well. He gives much thanks to God and he felt everyone’s prayers. Continued prayers for his upcoming treatments.
We give heartfelt and OVERFLOWING thanks to Bruce Post who has served humbly here at Trumbull for many years. His service in teaching our teens and spear heading the Bible Bowl teams for many years helped shape many of them for the LORD. Bruce has served this congregation in many capacities & we are going to miss him. We pray for his upcoming move to Little Rock as he begins his new job.
Thanks to Lisa and Tori Saracino for leading the Saturday morning Ladies Bible class. 16 ladies attended and it was a great study!

PRAYER REQUESTS:
Irene Aschen asked for prayers as the doctors are switching up her meds again. She struggles with breathing issues so this can be a challenging time. Her faith remains strong and she is grateful for the prayers.
Dorothea’s son David remains in the hospital with cardiac challenges. Continued prayers.

Just a reminder to let the red ” ONE MEAL AT A TIME” bags remind us to bring in non-perishable food for the Spooner House!
Psalm 19:1
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim his handiwork.”
The praying mantis is an insect whose hands are clasped together as if it is praying. Their bodies mimic leaves, twigs or flowers blending in wherever they go.
They are found worldwide from tropical rainforests to your backyard. Over 2,400 species exist!
The orchid mantis radiates with beauty as it mimics orchids as it attracts it’s prey.
Praying mantis are among the few insects that can rotate their heads up to 180 degrees. These graceful predators balance ecosystems, acting as natural pest control. Most insects have two ears, but praying mantises only have one. This ear helps them detect high-pitched frequencies, like bats’ echolocation calls. It is their early warning system for flying predators.
May we stand in complete AWE of our CREATOR!

On Friday, January 23rd we will be having a night of prayer at the church building. Traditionally, our congregation has always opened the new year with a night of thanks to God and praising Him for his blessings. We encourage everyone to attend.
This past week, we had a long conversation with Desrine who has been struggling with health challenges and has not been feeling well. Any time we speak with our seniors, we walk away feeling uplifted and inspired by their great faith!
Desrine’s spirit and faith remain strong in spite of her not feeling well. We wanted to share a bit about our conversation with her regarding prayer. Desrine said she “knows that God is with her daily” and she said that she “prays more than she eats. ” She said that her kids call her their “prayer warrior” and that “it is a wonderful feeling to talk to God at any time!” She stays rooted in God’s word and when she opens her eyes in the morning, and ” gives God thanks”, then she proceeds with her daily devotion. Prayer has helped her get through all of her days and she gives God the glory. She would love to write a book about how God has been with her throughout her life!
JoAnne Discala shared a testimony of what she and her family has learned from the scripture in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing“
“During the challenging time when my grandson Leo was in the hospital, I found myself praying without ceasing. This verse took on a different meaning in my life during this time! It was my lifeline….Each moment spent with HIM was filled with hope and faith, as I sought comfort and strength for both him and our family. Through the long days and sleepless nights, my prayers brought a sense of peace and resilience, deepening my connection with our awesome GOD and His unshakable hope that carried all of us through. By HIS grace and mercy- Leo is home after 104 days resting and healing….. AND JOYFUL!
Thank you all for your consistent prayers!
We prayed-God listened!!!!”
In the scriptures, we read about the power of prayer, which is the power of God. Set aside some time this week to read through the scriptures on biblical accounts of prayer. It will be a wonderful read! Here are but a few …
In 1 Samuel we read the scriptural account of Hannah who was desperate to bear a child. She poured out her heart in prayer at the temple, promising to dedicate any child given to her, to God. She later gave birth to the prophet Samuel.
In Daniel chapter 6, we read about Daniel’s plight. He was thrown into the lions den for praying to God, which was against the King’s decree. He was miraculously saved when an Angel of the Lord shut the Lions’ mouths, showing God’s protection for the faithful.
Jesus spent 40 days fasting and praying in the desert strengthening His bond with God, and preparing to resist temptation from the devil. Matthew 4:1-11
The Apostle Paul shared in Ephesians 1:15 “I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at this right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.“
Peter’s release from prison – Acts 12:5
The parable of the persistent widow – Luke 18
Our Lord and Savior prayed fervently for spiritual strength in the garden as he faced the crucifixion. Matthew 26:36-46
The LORD God Almighty can do ALL THINGS, and there is nothing impossible for Him.
Luke 1:37

God invites us to pray to Him. Our prayers should be without ceasing.

We are told not to be anxious and pray with a thankful heart. Philippians 4:6

To pray in Faith….

We are to pray within the will of God Matthew 6:10

and for the Glory of God…

And from a heart right with God James 5:16

God hears the prayers of His children. He commands us to pray and He promises to listen when we do.
“In my distress I called to the LORD;
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came before him, into his ears.”
Psalm 18:6
The Lord God Almighty answers prayer.
Psalm 17:6
“I call on you, O God, for you will answer me.”

There are so many examples of God answering prayers in scripture.
We can dial DIRECT at any place, and anytime!
Prayer places us in direct contact with Almighty God, and we should expect almighty results!

God is the source of the power of prayer. His answers are according to His perfect will and timing.
May God be glorified by and through, our prayers to Him.
KEEP SINGING and PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME….
THE LORD’S PRAYER
“Our Father, which art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation;
But deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom,
And the power,
And the glory forever. “
Amen
Hoping to see you on Friday, January 23rd as we lift up our prayers to the Father.

To God be the glory great things He hath done!
