Good morning church family,

GIVING THANKS & PRAISE:
Jillian Duncan is doing well after her surgery. Thanks be to God.
Thanks to all for set up, clean up and for a great fellowship meal last Sunday, where we celebrated our graduates Rebecca, Trenton and Tori. Trumbull has had a tradition all through the years to present Bibles to each of our graduates. May God bless them all as they continue to glorify Him throughout their lives. A special thanks to Larry for taking these pictures.

Information regarding TRCC:

Psalm 19:1
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the skies proclaim His handiwork.”
The Ibex are the iconic animal who thrive in the Negev Desert in Southern Israel. Ibex are native to most of the sub regions in the Negev, and will live anywhere with rocky steep cliffs.
The Ibex (or wild goats) lives in places where you would think no animal could get without falling and breaking its neck; you would be frightened to see it climb up rough and narrow places. The Ibex feeds during the night in the highest woods that grow on the mountains; but as soon as the sun rises it begins to climb. Ibex or wild goats are referred to in scripture. Psalm 104:18 , 1 Samuel 24:1
The Griffon Vulture is a giant of the sky and an endangered species. They have all but disappeared from their original territories in the Middle east.
Vultures are scavengers (i.e. they serve an important role in the ecosystem and are nature’s clean- up crew) and can easily cover a radius of 50 km daily in search for food. They mate for life and both parents will share in the care of their one single egg.
SCORPION DEATH STALKER
(Also known as Palestine yellow scorpion)
Scorpions are fascinating creatures who thrive in the Negev. They are fierce hunters and their sting is extremely dangerous. They are well adapted to desert life and thrive in harsh climates with temperatures around 110 degrees F. Death stalker scorpions hunt by lying in wait, then striking their prey very quickly. The best time to find them at night is with an ultra violet flashlight, which makes them glow!
Our God is AMAZING! He equips all of His creatures for the habitat He created them to live in.
May we stand in AWE of our CREATOR!
“Blessed be your glorious name,
and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise.
You alone are the LORD,
You made the heavens, even the highest heavens,
and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it,
the seas and all that is in them.
You give life to everything,
and the multitudes of heaven worship you.”
The Negev is a sub-tropical desert which covers half of Israel. The Negev is dry & barren most of the year. The long dry summer season lasts from May to October. When the rains hit (sometimes in just a matter of hours) the desert bursts with fresh water and new life. These seasonal rains turn them into rushing torrents.
We read about the Negev in Psalm 126:1-4
Psalm 126:1-4
“When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion,
we were like men who dreamed.
Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations, ‘
The LORD has done great things for them.’
The LORD has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.
Restore our fortunes, O LORD,
as the streams in the Negev.“
This Psalm looks back to when the captives returned to Jerusalem following their long exile in Babylon. They suffered so much, and now they suddenly found themselves back in their homeland, back in Jerusalem, back in the beloved city of God. It was a reminder to them of God’s promise of enduring love.
This Psalm carries a powerful message of hope. It tells us that God will turn our sorrow to joy, and our tears to laughter.
The dry riverbeds in the Negev desert look lifeless until the sudden seasonal rains turn them into rushing torrents.
The Psalmist uses the “streams in the Negev” to symbolically show deep contrast from the dry barren, to the transformation of life.
When the torrential rains fall, the water flows rapidly on the Negev.
This video captures the Negev when the floods burst forth..
With GOD, what looks hopeless, can change in a moment! Isaiah 43:19
WITH GOD WE HAVE OVERFLOWING ABUNDANCE
God’s answer is not a trickle but a flood that nourishes everything it touches, as we read in Job 5:10.
HE GIVES US LIFE , OUT OF BARRENNESS
The desert which is an emblem of death, turns green showing God’s power to resurrect dreams, nations and hearts. Isaiah 35:6-7
GOD IS FAITHFUL.
The same God who brought forth water from the rock, still sustains His people. God keeps His promises. Exodus 17:6
For Israel, it pictured full restoration to the land; For believers today, it gives us a beautiful picture of the Spirit’s refreshing us in our dry seasons.
Just as we need physical water which is essential to sustain our physical life here on earth, the spiritual and eternal water that only Jesus can provide is necessary to sustain eternal life with Him.
John 4:7-15
“When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, Will you give me a drink?” (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
The Samaritan woman said to him,”You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans).”
Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
Sir, the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?”
Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.“
Our fallen world is parched, dry, barren, and as hopeless as a desert with no water in sight. People are desperately thirsty for the Living Water that only Jesus Christ can provide.
Revelation 22:1-5
“Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life,
as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city.
On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse.
The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face and his name will be on their foreheads.
There will be no more night.
They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the LORD GOD will give them light.
And they will reign for ever and ever. “
Revelation 21:6
Revelation 22:17
PRAISE HIM & KEEP SINGING:
 SHALL WE GATHER AT THE RIVER
|
|
 |
Shall We Gather at the River? – A capella
|
|
|
Shall we gather at the river,
Where bright angel feet have trod;
With its crystal tide forever
Flowing by the throne of God
Yes, we’ll gather at the river,
The beautiful, the beautiful river;
Gather with the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God.
On the margin of the river;
Washing up its silver spray,
We will walk and worship ever,
All the happy golden day.
Yes, we’ll gather at the river,
The beautiful, the beautiful river;
Gather with the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God.
Ere we reach the shining river,
Lay we every burden down;
Grace our spirits will deliver,
And provide a robe and crown.
Yes, we’ll gather at the river,
The beautiful, the beautiful river;
Gather with the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God.
Soon we’ll reach the shining river,
Soon our pilgrimage will cease;
Soon our happy hearts will quiver,
With the melody of peace.
Yes, we’ll gather at the river,
The beautiful, the beautiful river;
Gather with the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God.
GOD is so good!
We have SUCH HOPE in JESUS CHRIST!
Revelation 22:14
To GOD be the glory, great things He has done!
In Him,
Bruce & Paula
